1st Adderbury Scout Troop, Banbury, Oxfordshire, UK

2005 saw the troop's programme expanding and Scout numbers increasing. The Troop's website was relaunched in the late summer, including a members area. Here, for the first time, Scouts could get hold of activity notes on-line, chat in the members forum, and progress with their badgework.

2005 was also the first year the Troop ran Festive Friday - a Christmas meal for parents at the start of December. (Previously Festive Friday had run as a Committee event.) After the food, the entertainment in 2005 was the Troop's own version of X Factor. From these beginnings Festive Friday has turned into the can't miss event of the year, featuring a high quality five course meal.

2005

Summer Camp 2005 in Llangorse

2005 continued as 2004 had ended with three patrols led by PLs Nick Putt (Merlins), Joe Davies (Kestrels), and Matthew Street (Tigers).

Nick and Joe reached the Scout leaving age in March. Matthew broke his leg at the start of the summer, and being unable to attend his final camp left the Troop.

The new PLs taking their places were Sam Bradley (Kestrels), Mark Bradley (Tigers) and a young Lewis Mahony (Merlins).

This was the PL line up for over a year and led to Troop numbers growing once again as the programme began to expand. Sam won the Lidster Trophy at two Summer Camps on the trot and Lewis remained a PL with the Troop until he reached his leaving age in the autumn of 2007.
