Snowdon in North Wales was the location of 2005's
Mountain Expedition.
We set off along the Miner's Track on an overcast, but
mild day.
The water was low in the reservoir making the island
accessible...
...as you can see!
The higher we got, the wetter it got as we moved into low
cloud.
This was just before visibility - and the temperature -
dropped.
The final stop before the final 200 metre gain in height
to the summit. |
Through the cloud the lakes could just be seen below.
Made it!
Thumbs up in the cloud at 1085 metres high - the trig
point at Snowdon's summit.
Resting before the trek downhill.
The views were stunning when the cloud cleared.
We followed the Pyg track down hill and spotted the
reservoir island we had walked by earlier.
Safely back at the minibus just as the light faded. |
