camaraderie: (noun) goodwill and light-hearted rapport between or among friends; comradeship

The Patrol Winter Camaraderie was an excellent day long inter-patrol challenge following a route from our home base in Adderbury cross country to Horley Scout Camp Site.

Bases were organised along the way, including "fishing" your clue in a billy across the canal using staves, sisal and coat hangers (thanks to Tom Norton for consigning one billy to the canal bottom for evermore!), and the electrified bridge.   Here, true Fort Boyard style, the Scouts had to work as a team to climb a rope mesh across an electrified bridge.   Its harder than in sounds!

After a splash and swim in the local pool, and a quest around the town to locate receipts and carrier bags from various shops, the final section included a base where various codes had to be input to an electric device in order to safely explode your clue from an old railway hut!

At Horley a backwoods feast was followed by a wide game, and then the team results were revealed.   An excellent day!
