Scouts from 1^st Adderbury Troop confirmed their status as North Oxfordshire’s best Scout footballers on Sunday July 4th 1999 by winning both first and second places in the District’s Outdoor Football Competition.

The seven hour event took place at the Kingsfield Playing Field in Bodicote with around 300 youngsters taking part in the Cub and Scout competition. The afternoon produced some nail biting football during the twelve minute matches, which took place on three separate pitches.

Within the Scout competition, 1^st Adderbury A’s almost identical team to the one that won the indoor competition earlier in the year romped home to receive the trophy in this tournament, remaining undefeated all afternoon.

Scout Leader Andy Green said, "For the fourth year running Scouts from 1st Adderbury have brought this trophy home. We have some real footballing talent within the Troop and each time we enter a competition we just seem to get better. With Summer Camp just a few weeks away it looks like our Summer celebrations start here!"
