Here's our roll call of honour from 1990-1999.   A collection of pages dedicated to top Scouts of Adderbury's past.    To get into the Hall of Fame a Scout must have lasted the course with North Oxfordshire's number one Scout Troop - no quitters here!

Any extra information will be gratefully received.   If we have missed you please send us an update so you can be added.

You can also see our Hall Of Fame from the 00s and our Hall Of Fame from the the 80s.

James Pope JAMES POPE

Left 02/11/99.   James had been an Otter, then Merlin then Tiger, where he became PL and the Troop's third ever Senior Patrol Leader.   James passed his Chief Scouts' Award.    Memories of James: flooded baguettes, football wins and being VERY ill on a narrowboat!   After A Levels James worked in Banbury before university and then did a stint as a radio sales person.   After that  he moved into the world of finance, firstly in Germany, and now in London, where he lives.   James is still a Leader with 1st Adderebury.   (04/12/07)

Jeremy Lumbers JEREMY LUMBERS

Left 05/01/99.   Jeremy spent most of his life in Scouts as a Swift, but joined the Merlins when he got a PLs' job.   He was another Chief Scouts' Award recipient at Adderbury.    Jeremy recently returned to Adderbury as a young leader whilst heading into his final year of A Levels, drinking, and working at Sainsburys!   Memories of Jeremy: Mr Bond and blond hair dye!   (08/0700)

Matthew Bartlett MATTHEW BARTLETT

Left 05/01/99.   Matt was an Otter at the start and an Otter PL at the end.   He left us with a Chief Scouts' Award pass. Memories of Matt include him somersaulting off his bike into a big hole.   With his hand dangling from a broken wrist he asked "will I be able to go biking tomorrow"!   Matt went to Coventry Uni to study Graphic Design and is now working for a Domino Systems as a web/graphic designer in Kingston Bagpuize..    (17/04/06)

Joe Blakeman JOE BLAKEMAN

Left 15/12/98.   Joe moved from the the Otters to the Swifts to become a PL.   He collected his Chief Scouts Award at the end of 1998 and has since then been in a chef, in further education and a green keeper on a golf course.   Currently Joe is working in Cevennes in the South of France.   Memories of Joe: GREASEBALL!!! and "I thought both boats would go through the gap", and being the Scout that spent the most time in the portaloo tent - on the video at least! (08/0700)

Marlon Dobson MARLON DOBSON

Left 29/09/98.   Marlon was a Merlin throughout his five years with 1st Adderbury.   Memories of Marlon include: "That's tight Jez" and "Come on lads".  Marlon is currently in further eduction.   (08/0700)

Andy Robinson ANDY ROBINSON

Left 01/09/98.   Andy was a Kestrel to the end, with that PL badge finally pinned to his chest.   Andy was our youngest member to ever get into an Oxford nightclub!    Other memories include "a pair of teef", the "5-go" video (they believed us!) and THAT geeky grin!   Andy is currently having a year out ahead of hitting Uni - God help them!   (08/0700)

Liam Merrick LIAM MERRICK

Left 07/01/97.   Another Adderbury Chief Scout.   Liam is remembered for funny squeeky noises (from his mouth, not his guitar), Oasis and that famous broadcast on Fox FM to a girl he fancied - he didn't know was on air!   Liam was a Tiger PL and has now moved away from the area.   Current info please!   (10/07/00)

Sean Smith SEAN SMITH

Left 07/01/97.   Sean was Merlins PL and passed his Chief Scouts' Award with 1st Adderbury.   Sean will be remembered for "Gemma" and her part in the 12 Days Of Christmas!   Sean was a pretty sound narrow boat skipper and the one that woke the leaders in the middle of the night at Summer Camp 1995.   Why?   Ask Sean!   After Scouts Sean did a GNVQ in Graphic Design at Southampton and is currently working as Design Manager for a company in Adderbury.   He lives with Kate in Bodicote and is about to become a dad!   (21/08/08)

Andy Wasley ANDY WASLEY

Left 07/01/97.   Never a PL with Adderbury, simply because there were no vacancies, but Andy passed his Chief Scouts with 1st Adderbury and was an Otter from start to end.   Memories of Andy: the other Gemma(!) and the day we all stood ready to set off for Summer Camp - Andy wasn't there coz he had overslept!   Current info please!   (10/07/00)

Dan Cooper DANIEL COOPER

Left 07/01/97.   Who can forget the day Dan broke his toe in the Crazy Camp Sports at Summer Camp then limped through to the end of the week saying it didn't hurt!   He was also the first Adderbury Scout ever to die his hair and get an ear ring.   Cool Dan!    Another Chief Scout, Dan was the Swift PL.   Dan was most recently seen working in Sainsbury's and putting on weight whilst in further education.   (10/07/00)
Scott Tallett SCOTT TALLETT

Left 07/01/97.   How to make yourself the most popular PL the Scott Tallett way - tell everyone else at Summer Camp they are supposed to bury their rubbish - then you get all the points for not doing it!   Well done Scotty boy!   Scott was Otter's PL and achieved a Chief Scouts Award.  He was one half of our Laurel and Hardy performance during 1996.   (10/07/00)

Chris Willsher CHRIS WILLSHER

Left 07/01/97.   Chris finished his time at Scouts as Kestrel's PL having attained these heights from the lowly position of Wally Of The Week at Summer Camp 1992!    He was always a regular at Troop outdoor activities and still mountain bikes today.   Chris had a staring performance as part of "East Adderbury" in 1996 - and the video still lives on.   Chris passed his Chief Scouts' Award, and after Scouts grew his hair long and went to University in Manchester.   Today Chris is a recruitment consultant in London, and is getting married in May 2009.   (20/01/08)
Douglas Drower DOUGLAS STOTHER

Left 21/03/95.   Hey remember "Dougie Doo Just Doin The Doo" - no us neither.   Dougie was always off "on a girl hunt", but still managed to gain a Chief Scouts' Award and was the Merlins' PL. He was also a Senior Patrol Leader.  Sally Moore's favourite Scout, what are you doing now Doug?   (10/07/00)

Richard Jelfs RICHARD JELFS

Left 01/01/95.   Whilst talking about Sally Moore, she gave Richard the nickname "Jaffa".  Jaff had fingers in every pie, always a scheme on the go, and the ability to arrange a damn good party!   The other PLs will never forget the "loft above the garage" incident and we will never forget the gizmo's and gadgets Richard used to build.    A Kestrel "King" PL and Chief Scout, Richard now has a degree and is on the lookout for a paying gig.   Anyone want to employ a 7 foot party animal?    (21/09/00)

Adam Haetzman ADAM HAETZMAN

Left 01/01/95.   The above pic shows Adam's proudest moment, when he pulled this metal pole out of the ground.    Er, yes.   Adam was Tiger's PL and passed his Chief Scouts' Award.    Who can ever forget the battle between Adam and Jaffa to win the Lidster trophy at Summer Camp 1994.   Adam won by one point!   Adam is now in his final year at University in Sheffield where he actually managed to pull a female - at last eh Ad!   He also now wears glasses because he is getting old, but old age has allowed him the ability to now drink two pints of beer before falling down.   (21/09/00)
Tom Osborne TOM OSBORNE

Left 01/01/95.   Poor old Tom!   At Summer Camp 1995 he really believed leader Helen Soden WAS ill (it was part of our cunning plan for a game) and ran across the field at high speed to offer the kiss of life!   Was he being a local hero or was there another reason?!    Tom was the Swifts PL and achieved his Chief Scouts Award with 1st Adderbury.    Tom has just moved into his own house in Adderbury and was last seen tucking into chocolate covered fruit at the Scouts' Christmas Market stall 2007.   (04/12/07)
Tom Horvath TOM HORVATH

Left 06/12/94.   Happy Horvy - the Otters PL and a 1st Adderbury Chief Scout.   Memories of Tom include narrowboating (nuff said eh Tom), dreadlocks and the fact that Tom was so laid back he was horizontal!   Tom went off to live in a beach hut in Bournemouth after the Scout Leader bet him £10 he wouldn't.   One year later he returned (but has forgottwn about the bet!   Tom is regularly to be found in Banbury Top Night Spot (steady!) the Sound Exchange where NO female is safe from him.   (21/09/00)
Ian Keen IAN KEEN

Left 22/03/94.   A former Kestrel PL, Ian was one of the Troop's top footballers of his era.   Despite only a short career as a PL, Ian spent a full five years with 1st Adderbury.    At the time of writing Ian is two week's away from becoming Daddy Keen.    Bless!   (21/09/00)
SIMON WYATT

Left 22/02/94
DAVID WYATT

Left 22/02/94
Paul Churchill PAUL CHURCHILL

Left 02/11/93.   Hey Churchy!   Remember the policemen in the cave?   Kelly Meadows?    The tent in the back garden?   So many stories and they were all from you!   Oh and the driving.   Nuff said.   Paul was Kestrel's PL and still lives in the area, where he's in a pretty fine band.    (10/07/00)
James Leaver JAMES LEAVER

Left 02/11/93.   James got the Pathfinder Award - not many younger Scouts achieve that!   He was also a pretty good canoeist and the Tiger's PL.   Where is James now?   Info please!   (10/07/00)
John Newby JOHN NEWBY

Left 02/11/93.   Hey Newbs!    John made it to Senior Patrol Leader at Adderbury after being the Swifts PL.    Who can forget John dressed up as "the bus driver" at Summer Camp 1993.   He was also one of the Scouts during a survival expedition that used the emergency phone to ring the local radio station for a song at 3am; the Scouts didn't have a radio so stayed on the line as the song played down the phone!   Since leaving Scouts John has lived and worked in Finland where he owns a bar, and spent much of his life travelling the world.   During the last 12 years John has visited an amazing 103 countries - just him, his bike and a tent!   (29/09/11)
Martin Cooper MARTIN COOPER

Left 02/11/93.   In Martin's day the Troop used to borrow a minibus called "Yellow Peril".    Martin was so imbarrassed when in this top transport he used to lie on the floor, especially in Banbury, and especially when near a girl he fancied.   What was her name Mart?   Coops was the Merlin's PL and a top narrow boat navigator.    Current info please.   (10/07/00)
Richard Baker RICHARD BAKER

Left 01/09/93.   Bakes was a Swift PL and part of our famous Take Action group - Adderbury's equivalent of Take That.    Rich was one of the PLs that helped us sink a narrowboat!   He was also one of the youngest Scouts ever to take on the role of PL at Summer Camp.    Another top footballer!   Where are you now Rich?    (10/07/00)
Jeremy Willsher JEREMY WILLSHER

Left 01/09/93.   Jeremy was Otters PL and another member of Take Action.   He was crowned Wally of the Week at Summer Camp 1989.   Jeremy got married in 2009 and currently lives and works in Taiwan where he teaches English to the local students.  Jeremy says Taiwan is a beautiful country and he has just moved to a town near some pretty spectacular mountains where he goes camping and hiking in his spare time - a bit like his old Scouting days!   (09/06/09)
Robbie Easterbrook ROBBIE EASTERBROOK

Left summer 1992.  The original Robster!   Robbie was Tigers PL.   we've been told that Rob now works for Sky TV in London (hey the big time Rob!) and spends his spare time with Doug Stother's sister (lucky devil!).   (21/09/00)
hof-jm.jpg (8481 bytes) JON MILLER

Left summer 1992.   Jon was Merlin's PL and a member of Adderbury's football team before we got a kit!    More memories and current info please.   (10/07/00)
ADAM DICKSON

Left spring 1992.
MARK CHURCHILL

Left spring 1992.
James Titcombe JAMES TITCOMBE

Left spring 1992.   James (or Titty - although he claims he was never called this!) was Merlin's PL and joint Wally Of The Week with Paul Churchill at Summer Camp 1991.   Apparently this remains James' proudest achievement! Today he lives in Witney with Mrs Titcombe, and is working hard to pay the mortgage. He's just completed an MA and claims to be a kick-ass guitarist, although he can't tie a knot or read a map. No change there then!   (21/03/07)
STEVEN EDGE

Left spring 1992.
STEVEN WHITEHEAD

Left spring 1992.
MATTHEW WHITEHEAD

Left spring 1992.
TIM BLACKBURN

Left summer 1991.   Always a cheeky chappy, Tim was the fun Scout to have around, and the person that got the job of setting up the Troop's fifth patrol.   He chose to name that patrol the Swifts.   Updates needed.

SCOTT BRYANT

Left summer 1991.   Scott was a late starter with the Troop, persuaded to join by his friends.   This was behind the story line of the 1990 Social Evening video where Scott had to decide between joining the Troop and going out with the love of his life - Sammy Garrett.   In the video he did both in the end.   As for real life ... well he was in the Troop and as for the rest - its not for us to comment!   Today Scott is living Bristol way.   Updates needed.

JEREMY FENNELL

Left summer 1991.   It used to be like the call of a wild animal from the leaders tents ... FENNELLLLL!!!   Jeremy was never guilty though - just near where it had all happened.   Jeremy was an Otter eventually taking the PL position and moving on to become Senior Patrol Leader for a few months before leaving the Troop to join our Venture unit.   Today Jeremy is a very senior person with the Dixons Group.   Let's hope they don't find this website!    Updates needed.

ADAM SHARP

Left autumn 1990.   Adam was a late starter with the Troop, joining us when his family moved to the village.   Adam is most famous for his "head clunking" moment when he forgot to move his feet abseiling and fell backwards.   Adam was fine, but he broke the helmet he was wearing!   (We still shudder when watching that video).   Adam became the Kestrel Patrol Leader during his last few months with the Troop.   Today he works for Waltham Forest Council.   Updates needed.
RICHARD JACKSON

Left autumn 1990.   For some reason the word "Orangey-boom" comes to mind when Jacko's name is mentioned.   That's probably because this one word caused huge delays in the filing of a Scout video because he collapsed in fits of laughter every time anyone said it.   Richard was the Tiger patrol, and star of many Scout videos, and a Venture Scout after his time with the Troop.   Richard now lives and works in the French Alps.    Updates needed.
STUART KEEN

Left autumn 1990.   Keeny was a Merlin, and is proud of the fact he led the Troop's football team to its first ever District Football competition.   (After we started we just couldn't stop winning it!)   When the previous Merlin PL left Stuart became a very young Patrol Leader, but handled the job well.   After Scouts he went on to Venture Scouts and now lives in Banbury.     Updates needed.
BRIAN EELES

Left autumn 1990.   Brian joined the Troop late in 1985 and after a short spell in another Patrol joined the Kestrels.   He stayed as a Kestrel eventually becoming the Patrol Leader, and finally progressing to be one of the Troop's few Senior Patrol Leaders.   Brian now lives and works in Sweeden - well he always did like Abba songs!   Updates needed.
