Canoe Expedition

At the start of 1986 Neil Belcher became the Otters PL.   Keith Brigden was promoted to be the Troop's first ever Senior Patrol Leader, and so Richard Jennens became the Tiger Patrol Leader.   They joined Kestrel PL Jon Clinkard and Merlin PL Craig Moore.   Towards the end of the year when Richard left Andy Whitehead became the new Tiger PL.

How high-tech is this logo?   Well it wasn't bad for 1986!

It comes from the Troop newsletter that was launched during the year, called The Bugler.   You can see the first edition here.

The Bugler continued until the mid 90s.

The older Scouts took a trip up Pen-Y-Fan

"Anne Davies was a traditional Welsh girl who lived at Llangasty-Talyllyn".   Those words start one of the most well know Stories of the Supernatural that Scouts get to enjoy during supper at the end of each camp day.   We've had a few wierd experiences on this site over the years, and on our first visit back in 1986 we're not sure if this photo shows an apparition, or Peter Jennens wandering round early in the morning in a pair of yellow pyjamas...!   You decide.
