BEN STOKER PRESENTED WITH SCOUTS' TOP AWARD

At the Troop meeting on February 28th our District Commissioner, Brian Sargent, presented Ben Stoker with his Chief Scouts' Gold award.

Ben will now attend a prestigious County Presentation in Eynsham on March 3rd.

The Chief Scout’s Gold Award is the culmination of a Scouts' time in the Troop and shows true commitment and determination through a series of difficult challenges and tests, completed over four years.

Scout Leader Andy Green said, “Ben has worked really hard for this award. To gain it he has taken part in various outdoor activities, learned life skills, and also given up some of his spare time to perform valuable tasks in the community.”

“The Chief Scout’s Gold Award is highly respected and something which will aid him as him seeks a college or university place, and applies for jobs in the future. By showing true determination and commitment to achieve this award he has gained a head start over his peers, demonstrating he has the key skills any employer would look for in an employee.”

District Commissioner Brian Sargent added, “I’m really pleased to present this award. It represents lots of hard work over a period of several years and Ben is to be congratulated on his achievement”.

To pass the award Ben completed a series of badges and took on various leadership roles, completed community work at Adderbury Lakes, learned various life skills, completed many camps, and attempted various adventurous activities including a mountain expedition, caving, completing a high ropes course and motor sports.
